Two men and a 17-year-old boy were charged this week following attacks on taxi drivers. The drivers picked up the passengers and were told to drive to Shaw Heath car park in Stockport. Two women were also arrested but released on bail.
Also in Stockport, a racially motivated attack on an Asian pensioner who was pushed by three men into a pond. He was later treated for cuts and bruises. The three men were caught and have been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated assault.
Following the Oasis concert in Heaton Park, Manchester last month, 20,000 fans asked for a refund. Guitarist Noel Gallagher made a brief statement at the end of the concert following technical difficulties and said that if anyone still had their ticket, they would receive a fully refund. However, his comments backfired with 20,000 fans made the request. Gallagher is now disappointed and has called these fans ‘cheeky’. If all fans attending the gig received a refund, it would have cost £3million!
A 19-year-old man was shot in the stomach in Fallowfield. He will now undergo surgery to remove the bullet. Police have said that they are keeping an open mind about the motive for the shooting and are appealing for information.
